I parked my car at the Milwaukee Athletic Club so that way I wouldn't have to walk all the way from the Upper East Side to Downtown. Since I valet cars there, I noticed one car that always has a dog in it. So I thought that hearing the echo-y dog bark might be something different. (The squeak you hear in the beginning is me kicking a dumpster to wake up the dog) Listen here.

RiverWalk
During my walk, and on my way to the bridge where I planned to record cars driving over it, I was recording when I got a good clip of sounds. At first, there was a police car with its sirens on, and during this, the bells from City Hall ring as well. Also, if you listen closely, you'll hear a car being opened from a key fob. Listen here.

Cars Over a Bridge
I remembered the vibrations you would hear as you drove over the section of the bridge that lifts up as boats come through. So for something new to me and something I thought would be cool to listen to, I decided to hang my mic under the bridge between St. Paul Ave. and Water St. and look like an idiot at the same time. As the light at the intersection North and South of the bridge turned green, cars drove over it, creating vibrations. You can also tell which cars are on the right side and left side from the tone of the vibration. Also, you will hear horrible car breaks and wierd sounds from a bus as it comes to a stop. Listen to the Sounds here.

Train, Firetruck, and Seagulls All in One
On the last stop of my drift walk, I found a little alley on Seebooth St. It seemed to be a quieter area so I thought I'd get a different result. There was also a tunnel right beneath the train track. I waited longer here for the train, then I had to for the extremely late Amtrak on Plankinton St. Listen to the sounds here

Train Crossing on Plankinton St.
It was here, on Plankinton St., where I was able to film and record the train no more then 10 feet away. An intersection, right behind my camera, had the warning sirens, and the train horn is pretty much deafening. You can hear the sound here.
*Sound never over-modulated on Audacity after I added fade in/fade out, but volume should not be all the way up when playing this.

Drift Strategy: "Lets Flip a Coin"
Partly because I couldn't think of anything that was original enough, and partly because I like the "Dark Knight" so much, I thought I could...leave this up to chance. I will be using a simple coin flip of a quarter to lead me on my way in my drift walk. The first coin flip is North(heads) and South(tails) and the next flip is dedicated to East(heads) and West(tails).
Taking place of Gotham will be downtown Milwaukee. I will start on Broadway St. and Kilbourn St. and let the coin decided what direction I head. Also, since the whole "the night is darkest before the dawn" line is so interesting, or the fact that no one is ever up early enough to hear sounds of the dawn (it's quieter then usual helping drowned out singluar sounds better), I plan to get up earlier then usual to do this.
